Who are we?

We are followers of Jesus Christ and members of His Holy Church.  The membership of Saint Sophia is made up of Orthodox Christians from many different backgrounds.  Some of us grew up in the Orthodox Church in far away lands.  Some of us grew up in the Orthodox Church right here in the United States.  Some of us grew up in very different spiritual traditions (or none at all) and, over time, have come to see the Truth of the Gospel and the necessity of belonging to the historic, New Testament Church. Whether you’re a seeker of Truth, a Christian of another tradition, or an Orthodox Christian visiting or moving to our area, we’d love to get to know you. Come visit us!  There is room for you at Saint Sophia!

What is the Orthodox Church?

The Holy Orthodox Church is the original Church of the New Testament, founded by our Lord Jesus Christ.  Holy Orthodoxy is evangelical, but not Protestant; It is Orthodox, but not Jewish; It is Catholic, but not Roman; The Orthodox Church isn’t non-denominational.  Instead, it is quite literally pre-denominational, with historic roots that extend back more than two-thousand years to the founding of the Church by Jesus.   Since then Orthodox Christians have believed, taught, preserved, defended, bled and died for the Faith of the Apostles.  Please come visit us soon.

Please join us soon for worship of the Holy Trinity.
