“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)
As Orthodox Christians we understand that all that we have and enjoy comes to us from God. We are, therefore, called to be good stewards of His gifts. We further realize that Christ is Lord of all areas of our lives, including our finances, and that we therefore have a holy obligation to joyfully and sacrificially commit ourselves to the ongoing work of His Body, the Church. We see the work of our small parish to be a response to that call, and that we are, in fact, missionaries in Dripping Springs and in the surrounding central Texas hill country.
In order that the Church might responsibly plan for the future expenses, we ask you to translate your dedication Christ and the Great Commission into an actual number, a pledge or promise of financial support which will help us meet our ordinary expenses and plan better ways to reach out to our community with the Gospel.
We understand that this is does not constitute our entire involvement in the Church or our total commitment to Christ, but that it is vital for the planning of our work in the year ahead. Therefore, as an act of love and faith, please complete the Giving Commitment Form below and either return it the next time you are at Church or mail it to our P.O. Box address, which is:Saint Sophia Orthodox Church P.O. Box 534 Dripping Springs, TX
Every pledge is important and we thank you for your commitment to the Holy Orthodox Faith and Saint Sophia Orthodox Church in particular. May God bless you!
