School Excuses

Fr. Peter is happy to write notes asking that students be excused from classes for attendance at Holy Week services. Please contact him for further information.

Confession

For practical reasons, only confessions of a truly pressing nature will be heard between the service of Holy Unction and Pascha. Regular confessions will be heard again following Pascha.

Regarding the Mystery of Holy Unction

Proper preparation for this service is much like preparing for Holy Communion and includes confession, fasting (at least from our mid-day meal) and prayer. Since Unction is a Holy Mystery, the non-Orthodox, as well as Orthodox Christians who are not prepared to receive Holy Communion and have not prepared for Holy Unction, should not come forward to be anointed. Having said this, I hope that each of you prepares for and participates with faith in this great Mystery of the Orthodox Faith.
